BRONZED SHOE COMPETITION
Philly Tap Challenge Workshop, Performance and Competition Rules:
The following rules will be enforced:
ALL COMPETITORS, PERFORMERS AND WORKSHOP PARTICIPANTS MUST BE REGISTERED
Workshop participants must have appropriate tap shoes that have screws properly embeded for the prevention of scratches on the floor.
Please be on time for workshops. Each person must be signed in before taking workshops.
NO FOOD ALLOWED IN ANY STUDIO OR THEATER SPACE.
For All Performers and Competitors
Time Limit for dances: 3 1/2 minutes.
Accompaniment: Cassette tapes or CDs’ are to be provided to the Staff or Sound Technician at least 1/2 hour before your performance.
Ages: Junior Tap Idol 10 – 13, Teen Tap Idol 14-17, Tap Idol 18 –25, Senior Tap Idol 26+
Props: No props of any kind allowed on stage unless they are hand held props. Hand help props cannot include any swords or items deemed unsafe or dangerous.
All performance presentations must be acceptable and appropriate for all ages. No lewd or disrespectful presentations allowed.
No videotaping or photography by participants is allowed under any circumstances. By signing and registering for this event, all participants for Philly Tap Challenge, performance and workshops give permission for photographs and video images to be taken. Additionally, participants may purchase their images on video or dvd format (if available) from Philly Tap Challenge. Forms for purchases are available on site.
General lighting for all challenge participants will be in effect.
ONLY PERFORMERS AND CHALLENGERS WILL BE ALLOWED THRU STAGE ENTRANCE & BACKSTAGE.
Enter building at stage entrance (watch for signs).
Plan to arrive at least 1/2 hour prior to the scheduled performance time that is 8:45pm.
No one will be allowed to enter or exit the theater while a performance is taking place.
Performers are to remain in the dressing area quietly until their scheduled performance time.
The Philly Challenge staff will be backstage to provide instructions and assist with any questions you may have. The staff is your liaison to the stage manager.
No videotaping or photography of performances under any circumstances. Anyone observed violating this rule will be asked to leave the theater.
The Challenge staff will take photographs for publicity purposes only; signing this form or any online registration gives us permission to use your image(s) in any publicity campaigns.
Philly Tap Challenge 2006 reserves the right to return registration entries and monies based on the number of registrations received or cancellation due to lack of entries. Full refund of fee will be given if any of the above occurs.
NO ONE WILL BE ADMITTED TO THE THEATER WITHOUT A TICKET.
All performers (with the exception of Challenge Competitors) may purchase a ticket to the show at a discounted price of $12. This price is for the performers only. General admission ticket price is to be paid for non performers entering theater. Please include ticket payment along with registration forms and indicate the number of tickets needed. Tickets are good for both events. LEJA’s concert begins promptly at 7:30PM Saturday. You must follow general admission procedure of all audience members guided by house rules governed by the ushers and the front of house manager. There is ample time between showcases for performers and competitors to report backstage and prepare for the Challenge and Performance venues.
